Apart from programs focused on 4 th industrial revolution technologies for students and professionals, Funtrench is taking emerging technologies to the next generation. We have two courses aimed at the teenage audience. We introduce young learners to programming in Scratch, a programming language that focuses on animation and gaming for a visual learning experience. This ignites the interest of young students for software development, which can later lead them down a path to careers in development, gaming and animation. Our robotics introductory course opens up the world of electronics and hardware to young learners, giving them the skill necessary to build simple circuits using Arduino kits.

|Scratch Developer Course||Scratch is a visual programming language developed by MIT. It is suitable for ages 8 – 16 years. Students use Scratch to code their own interactive stories, animations, and games. In the process, they learn to think creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively — essential skills for everyone in today’s society. A simple game project is included. Students must bring their own laptops.||20||2||15,000|
|Junior Robotics Course||Introduction to embedded systems and robotics. Arduino platform used for practical and hands-on learning. The voltage on electronic boards is 5V so there is absolutely no risk of electric shock to learners. Suitable for ages 13 and up. Simple project with basic wiring, sensors and LEDs. Arduino kit available for sale separately for 10,000 KES.||20||2||24,000|
Our kids’ courses have no examinations, but assessment of simple projects is done and students will receive a certificate from Funtrench. Each of these courses has a practical project.
